Job Summary:
The General Orthopedic Surgeon will be a core member of Strive Surgical's integrated orthopedic platform, providing broad-based surgical and non-surgical care for the full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions. This role is essential to ensuring that no orthopedic patient is turned away. Working alongside a dedicated total joint surgeon, spine surgeon(s), and PM&R/pain management physician, the General Orthopedic Surgeon handles the wide range of cases that fall outside highly subspecialized joint replacement and complex spine surgery, including sports medicine, upper extremity, fracture care, foot and ankle, and arthroscopic procedures. The ideal candidate is a versatile, high-volume surgeon who values a team-based care model and is energized by the opportunity to practice across the full breadth of orthopedics within a growing, physician-friendly platform.
Why Join STRIVE Surgical?:
Join a purpose-built orthopedic platform with a full complement of specialists: you will never need to turn a patient away because every orthopedic subspecialty is covered within the practice
Built-in referral pipeline from the PM&R/pain management physician, direct-to-employer bundle programs, and cross-referrals from fellow orthopedic and spine surgeons
High-volume ASC access with modern infrastructure and a dedicated surgical team, avoiding hospital bureaucracy and OR scheduling delays
Compensation model that includes ASC bonus, significantly increasing earning potential beyond professional fees alone
Supportive leadership team with deep healthcare operations, payor contracting, and practice management expertise
Long Island home base with satellite days in NYC, offering schedule predictability and minimal travel

What We Offer:
Surgical Care
Perform a broad range of orthopedic surgical procedures at Strive Surgical-affiliated ambulatory surgery centers, including but not limited to: arthroscopic shoulder surgery (rotator cuff repair, labral repair, decompression, biceps tenodesis), ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair, fracture fixation (upper and lower extremity), carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release, hand and wrist surgery, foot and ankle procedures (bunion correction, hammertoe repair, ankle arthroscopy, ankle fusion), and ligament reconstruction
Evaluate and triage patients presenting with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, determining appropriate surgical versus conservative management pathways
Manage pre-operative planning, intra-operative execution, and post-operative care for all surgical cases
Perform office-based procedures including joint aspirations, injections, fracture reductions, and splinting/casting
Cross-Referral and Platform Collaboration
Participate in Strive Surgical's integrated orthopedic care model by cross-referring patients to the appropriate specialist when clinical needs exceed general orthopedic scope: total joint candidates to the joint replacement surgeon, complex spine cases to the spine surgeon, and chronic pain patients to the PM&R/pain management physician
Receive referrals from the PM&R physician, primary care providers, urgent care centers, and emergency departments for surgical evaluation
Collaborate with the total joint and spine surgeons on complex or multi-specialty cases requiring coordinated care
Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and care coordination meetings to optimize patient outcomes across the platform
Practice Development
Build and maintain referral relationships with primary care physicians, sports medicine providers, urgent care centers, physical therapy practices, and community providers across Nassau County and NYC
Serve as a primary point of contact for employer-referred orthopedic cases through Strive Surgical's direct-to-employer bundle partnerships
Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and standardized care pathways for common orthopedic conditions
Participate in marketing, community outreach, sports team coverage, and educational events as needed to drive patient volume and brand awareness
ASC Utilization and Efficiency
Maximize utilization of Strive Surgical-affiliated ASCs by performing appropriate cases in the outpatient setting, contributing to facility volume and operational efficiency
Collaborate with ASC leadership on case scheduling, supply chain management, and equipment needs to support a high-quality surgical environment
Maintain awareness of evolving CMS and commercial payor guidelines for ASC-eligible orthopedic procedures to ensure the practice captures appropriate case volume

Preferred
Fellowship training in Sports Medicine, Hand and Upper Extremity, or Foot and Ankle
Experience in a multi-site, high-volume outpatient or ASC-based orthopedic practice
Familiarity with EMR systems (AdvancedMD experience a plus)
